Luperox 223-S polymer initiator is used in water-based emulsion polymerization to produce polyvinyl chloride. The recommended concentration is 0.02-0.15% in the temperature range of 45°C to 60°C. Under these conditions, Luperox 223-S polymer initiator works well in combination with more active peroxides like Luperox 188M75 polymer initiator. These peroxides work together to improve PVC production efficiency through higher conversion and utilization of available cooling capacity. Luperox 223-S contains tert-butyl hydroperoxide as a means to increase the self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT), thereby improving safety.
